Some of what we do

Here are some shining examples of what campers have been up to. If you were with us last summer, chances are you're in here somewhere.

You can view all videos on our YouTube channel:

Day Two of sports week was "Wear your Philadelphia Soul Gear" day After lunch, players from the team stopped by E.O.M. to run drills for the campers then stuck around for autographs and photos.

Visit from the Philadelphia Soul

  • During Week 6 we were visited by a few players and staff for the Philadelphia Soul

  • Campers were led through drills, exercises, stretches and games

  • The visit concluded with a pep talk, autograph session, group photo, and plenty of Gatorade

Tye-Dye week came to a close today and all of our campers were super, super colorful and mega groovy, man.. Camp is already halfway over and were hitting our stride moving into week 6.

TYE DYE WEEK

  • An absolute PHYSED staple since the beginning

  • Campers can bring in any items they want tye-dyed. Shirts, socks, towels, grandma's bathmat*, or your hat

  • The items are put on display to dry and are returned to parents with washing instructions

  • At the end of the week we have TYE-DYE-DAY when everyone showcases their creations

The newest game thought up by our own brilliant staff of counselors. Campers start at opposing sides of the basketball court and race, relay style, to dive/slide their gymnastic mat from one baseline to the other. First team to cross the opposite side, wins.

MAT SLIDE RELAY

  • Dreamt up by our own crew of crazy counsellors

  • Campers take turns running relay race style towards one of our gymnastics mats

  • The objective is to dive on the mat and slide it as far as possible, then tag a friend to do the same

  • First team to slide their mat across the opposing baseline wins, rinse and repeat until maximum tiredness is achieved

More games than you can shake a hockey stick at

Every summer we go back and review what games and activities worked best. What didn't work we get rid of, what sort of worked we improve upon, and what worked well stays put. Campers are open (actually encouraged) to suggest games and other things that would make the camp more enjoyable for them and their friends. We welcome every opportunity to make PHYSED a better place.
